Did you know?!
Your skin can be oily and dehydrated at the same time.

When your skin is dehydrated (lacking water) your sebum production will kick in, in over drive. You will have excess oil and still lack the much needed hydration your skin needs.

This creates the perfect recipe for milia, clogged pores and breakouts.

Want to Know How to Achieve That Perfect Summer Body?

Summer is less than a month away, so you might want to start thinking about preparing your body for this beloved season. These tips won’t take too much of your time, but they will require some small changes in your everyday routine.

Eat Healthily:
Forget about all those unhealthy foods you’ve been eating during the winter, and say hello to some healthy choices. Switch your sweets, fast food and processed products for some whole foods. Eat more fruits, nuts, and seeds instead, and you will not only lose some weight but also save up some money you can spend on your summer vacation.

Be Hydrated:

If the harsh summer sun doesn’t agree with your skin, then make sure you’re prepared for it by staying well hydrated, both from the outside and from the inside. There are many skin care products on the market today that will hydrate your skin, but nothing comes close to simply drinking loads of water.
Get Bronzed:
If you want to look like a million bucks at the beach and emphasize your toned body, then you might want to consider getting bronzed. It will make your muscles more visible and defined. You can achieve this effect by tracing a line of tanning lotion from your sternum to your belly button and along the obliques.

Start Your Workout With Some Coffee:

If you need your pre-summer workouts to really be effective, you can seek help from your friend coffee! Coffee will give you some extra energy you need to push harder in the gym, but that’s not all. Research shows that coffee can also offer some protection from the harmful effects of the sun. If you want to use the full potential of your pre-workout caffeine fix, make an iced coffee instead of your regular one. This way, the caffeine will kick in just as you hit the hardest part of your workout.

Make Some Changes To Your Routine:

If you usually end the week with some sugary cocktails or a heavy dinner with your friends, it’s time to ditch that routine. Instead, you can hit a different fitness class every week and have just as much fun, if not more. Or if you just can’t say no to Sunday brunches, make sure you have your workout before. This way you will burn some of the calories in advance.

Hit It With HIIT:
If you want to take advantage of those sunny days and do some workouts outside but aren’t a big fan of running, you can always try some HIIT workouts. They are mostly full-body circuit workouts, and you can do them anywhere you want: at the park, in your backyard or at the beach. You will only need some good gym wearsome sunscreen and a bottle of water. HIIT exercises burn a ton of calories and you will also continue to burn some additional calories even hours after you’ve finished your session, because of the big boost to your metabolism.

Ditch The Carbonated Drinks:

If you don’t want to look bloated at the beach, then better say goodbye to those carbonated drinks. Drink more types of tea such as peppermint and chamomile, or make your own dandelion tea that will do wonders for your stomach. Grate some fresh ginger into hot water; add some lemon juice and some dandelion leaf. Strain and drink when lukewarm. This tea will soothe your stomach and prevent bloating. Perfect for the summer!

As you can see, all these tips are very easy and if you stay persistent, you will be the best-looking person at the beach. If you make these little changes and implement some of these tips into your daily routine, you will get your body ready for the summer in no time

Airbrush Tanning at Liz Skincare

Airbrush Tanning at Liz Skincare

Full body Airbrush Tanning Application FDA approved and recommended by The American Cancer Society as the only safe way to tan, without the dangerous causes of the sun or tanning beds.

        Before Tanning Tips:

  • Waxing, pedicures, and facials should be done at least one day prior to your tanning session.
  • Shave and exfoliate with an exfoliating scrub. This will rid the skin of dead skin cells enabling the tan to last longer.
  • No makeup, perfumes or lotions. These can affect the absorption of DHA resulting in streaking and minimal color.
  • Deodorants should also be avoided. Spraying over deodorant can result in green rings around the arm pit and is difficult to remove.
  • Bring dark, loose-fitting clothing and flip flops or pedicure sandals to wear afterwards.
  • Tight clothing can rub the tan completely off in most areas. It is recommended to wait at least 5 hours before putting on tight clothing.

    After Tanning Tips:

  • If you have had an application with bronzer, you will see color washing off the first time you shower. This is just the surface color that was applied. Your skin will continue to tan as the self-tan reaction occurs on your skin.
  • Avoid perspiring, and be careful when washing hands and other activities as this may cause tan to streak until first shower.
  • Shower in 8-12 hours using a body wash or shower gel. These contain less alkaline than regular bar soap. You will see the cosmetic bronzer wash off, this is normal.
  • Moisturize twice a day with alcohol-free lotion. Hydrated skin makes your tan last longer and slows down the process of natural skin exfolitation. Alcohol based products are drying to the skin and can cause tan to fade quicker and unevenly.
  • Avoid exfoliating skin and hair removal products.
  • When showering, use your hand instead of washcloth.
  • Taking long, hot baths or soaking in the pool can accelerate exfoliation and fade your tan.
  • When swimming or soaking in hot tub, use a waterproof sun screen to help seal it in. the tan will still fade a little, but this will slow down the process.
  • The use of Alpha Hydroxy Acids will increase exfoliation and accelerate the fading process of your tan.
  • Do not exercise immediately following your tanning session. Excessive perspiration can affect the tanning process and the end result of your tan.
  • DO NOT sit directly on leather or light fabric seats and furniture after your tanning session. Sit on a towel or cloth instead.
