How to properly take care of the pubic hair.

In today's society there is a misconception that pubic hair is a bad thing to have and that we must get rid of it.  But in this blog we will tell you how to properly take care of the pubic hair so you don't have to remove it completely...

There's nothing dirty about pubic hair. In fact, it's actually there to keep you and your vagina safe and clean. "Pubic hair's purpose is to protect the vagina from friction and abrasions," Personal hygiene is extremely important to ensure a healthy and clean body. By looking after your pubic hair, you can avoid and prevent discomfort, bacteria, and germs in and around your genitals.

Wash your pubic hair using hot water.

  • Using soaps or perfumes can seriously aggravate or irritate your pubic area. Your pubic region has a specific pH level and certain soaps can throw this off.
  • Use specially pH balanced pubic washes to clean your pubic hair if you must use a product. You can find these washes over the counter or by asking your local pharmacist.
  • Do not use deodorant, talcum powder, shampoo, or fragranced wipes to clean your pubic hair. This can be especially tempting if you are experiencing unpleasant odors from your pubic region.

Wipe your pubic area with a wet towel or tissue paper.

After using the toilet, you may want to wipe your pubic region with a damp towel or tissue paper. This will help you maintain the cleanliness of your pubic hair.

Keep your pubic hair dry, Moisture can cause irritation.

  • Keeping your pubic hair dry can prevent discomfort and bacteria from growing.
  • Dry your pubic hair completely before putting on clothes after showering.
  • Wear looser clothing and avoid nylon, synthetic, or tight clothing where moisture can be trapped. This is especially important when temperatures are high and sweating occurs down there.

Trim your pubic hair. Having excessive pubic hair can trap germs or debris in your pubic region.

  • Trimming your pubic hair to manageable level can help keep it clean.
  • You may feel ashamed or embarrassed if you have a lot of pubic hair. However, having pubic hair is a sign of maturity and having a lot of it is not a bad thing.
  • And keeping your pubic hair clean and manageable is an important task to keep up your own personal health and hygiene.

Carefully shave your pubic hair. If you choose to remove your pubic hair, shaving is less painful that waxing and the most economical option. To ensure a comfortable shave:

  • Trim your pubic hair before shaving. Use scissors to cut your hairs as short as possible. This keeps hairs from snagging onto the razor and pulling at your skin.
  • Choose a razor designed to shave pubic hair. Most razors will work fine but if you plan to shave in a delicate and hard to reach place like between your buttocks, a specialized razor can prevent nicks and cuts from happening. For example, some razors are equipped with a trimmer or are coated with a soothing lotion.
  • Bathe or shower before shaving to open up your pores and soften coarse hairs. Typically, pubic hair is thicker than the hairs on our heads.
  • Use shaving cream to help protect your skin while shaving. However, be careful not to put shaving cream onto your genital area as it can cause irritation and inflammation.
  • Apply aloe vera or baby oil after shaving.
  • Don’t use moisturizers with chemicals or fragrances.

Get your pubic hair waxed.

  • You can get waxed by a professional or do it at home. However, there is an element of pain that comes with pubic waxing.
  • To relieve pain, take aspirin or ibuprofen 30 minutes before waxing. To ensure a comfortable waxing experience
  • Wait until your pubic hair is about a quarter of an inch (1 cm) long before waxing. The wax will grab onto the hair follicle, making it easier to remove.
  • Follow the instructions of at-home wax kits carefully. Some kits will have a pot or cup of wax for you to heat and apply, while others will have premade strips ready for you to use.
  • Test the temperature of the hot wax before applying it to your pubic area. A burn down there can be extremely uncomfortable. Test the temperature by applying a bit of wax to the inside of your wrist. Wax needs to be hot enough for it to spread over your skin but not hot enough that it will burn it.
  • Wear cotton underwear and clothing after waxing to allow your skin to breathe and avoid irritation.

Consider removing certain parts of your pubic hair. There are different looks and styles you can give your pubic region. Some popular styles include:

  • The Landing Strip: This look leaves a narrow and vertical strip of hair right above your genitals. The width and length of the strip depends on you.
  • Bikini Wax or Trim: This look takes away pubic hair that would be visible if you were wearing a bikini bottom or underwear.
  • Completely Bare or Brazilian Wax: All hair is removed in this look.

The Dangers of Pubic Hair Grooming at Home...

An American Medical Association study found that younger people and hairier men are more likely to injure themselves grooming their pubic hairThe study said only 1.4 percent of resulting injuries require medical attention but those that do are 'severe'
Injuries sustained from grooming include lasceration, burning and rashesThe most popular grooming method was shaving with a nonelectric razor, used by 47.5 percent of study participants

From 'manscaping' in the shower to do-it-yourself Brazilian waxes - millions of Americans are injuring themselves grooming their pubic hair, a new report reveals.
The majority of women (80 percent) and most men (67 percent) trim down there.  But according to new figures from the American Medical Association, a quarter of groomers have suffered severe injuries, with wounds particularly common among younger people and hairier men.

Many have even ended up in hospital requiring surgery and antibiotics.

More than a third of people surveyed by government health researchers admitted they had sustained five or more injuries while grooming.

Many reports have warned of one particularly dangerous technique which seems to be causing the most damage: lying on your back and having others groom your pubic hair.
Laceration was the most common injury, followed by burning and rashes. Shaving is by far the most common method.

A report found that 133 groomers were treated for infections after manicuring their genital area; meanwhile 49 received antibiotics for lacerations and 36 had severe injuries that required surgical intervention. Surgeries include anything from draining absences and stitching up wounds.

For males, scrotum injuries were most common and penile injuries were also frequent. They rarely reported pubis injuries.
But the opposite was true for females, who had a high number of injuries to the pubis. Females also sustained injuries to the inner thigh and vagina.

Injuries can also result in infections and ingrown hairs,  University of California San Diego researchers, who found a five-fold increase in reported injuries from 2002-2010.
A total of 11,704 people landed in the E.R. after waxing, shaving or trimming sessions went awry  and it's a pretty even split between women (56.7%) and men (43.3%).

In the image below is shown the percentage of injuries that occur when pubic hair grooming is done at home incorrectly, with the wrong tools or simply just down incorrectly.

These are 4 Awesome Home Remedies for Weight Loss you Must Try!

Many Americans struggle to maintain a healthy weight.

At least two out of every three American adults are considered to be overweight, and about half of that population are overweight enough to be considered obese.

The American obesity epidemic is influenced by a number of factors. Some of these factors, such as genetics and medical conditions, are outside of our control. Others, such as healthy eating habits and exercising regularly, are easier to maintain control over.
However, studies have also shown that our society as a whole is more overweight than the generations that came before us.

There are several factors that contribute to our increased average weight gain:

  • Factors In The Obesity Epidemic

Most of these factors are difficult or impossible to control. However, when your metabolism and lifestyle habits fail you, you can turn to other forms of help to manage your weight.

  • Alcohol Culture

Americans celebrate every occasion with a drink in hand (“Congrats on the new job! Let me buy you a drink to celebrate!”) and the social scene revolves around craft breweries and local pubs. As a result, “alcohol culture” is more prevalent than ever before.

The first hurdle that alcohol culture creates in managing your weight is that craft beer and mixed drinks introduce excess carbs, sugars, and calories into your system without producing any additional benefit to your body. Mixed drinks, in particular, are loaded with unnatural refined sugars, syrups, and food dyes, all of which are nothing but bad news to your system.

But the calories contained in your favorite alcoholic drink are only a part of the problem. Even if you trade your craft-brewed IPA or rum and coke for a gin and tonic, the presence of the alcohol in your system will still make it more difficult for you to lose weight.

This is because your body metabolizes the alcohol  before it breaks down any other fats or sugars in your system, thereby inhibiting its fat burning processes.

  • Natural Weight Loss Inhibitors

Even adults who drink very little, avoid most processed foods, and exercise regularly can still struggle with maintaining a healthy weight.

Weight gain and loss is a complex subject, affected by countless variables, and as such there are a number of reasons that you might struggle to lose weight. Not all of these reasons are related to your metabolism or to your lifestyle:
Some adults have simply inherited overweight tendencies.

Hereditary obesity can be offset with a healthy lifestyle, but an active young adult with two obese parents is still likely to experience more difficulty losing weight than a peer of similar weight and age with two naturally thin parents.
The Western diet often causes our bodies to over-produce insulin.

When this happens, you body stores more energy in your fat cells than what you actually need to go about your day, which in turn means that you have to expend more energy when exercising in order to burn those fat cells.
If your body’s natural hormone balance is off, then the chemicals that affect your appetite and energy levels could be adversely affected.
Medical conditions can induce sudden fluctuations in weight that can be difficult to combat.
Similarly, prescribed medications may induce side effects that cause you to gain or lose weight, or affect your appetite.

  • What About Weight Loss Medication?

Prescribed weight loss medications are typically designed to combat severe obesity, so if you are struggling just to lose a few pounds then medication is not likely to be a healthy long-term solution.

Some medications help to block the buildup of fats in your body. Others are designed to help you eat less by decreasing your appetite or trick your brain into thinking that you are full.

While these can be effective ways to lose weight, these medications also induce a host of negative side effects, such as increased blood pressure, constipation, fatigue, and low blood sugar.

Additionally, using medications to lose weight rarely leads to a long-term solution

In many instances, users need to continue taking those medications in order to maintain their weight loss, which leads to a dependency on the drug to maintain long-term results. This means living with the increased blood pressure, fatigue, and other negative side effects.

Natural Remedies for Weight Loss

Luckily, there are plenty of natural ways to kickstart your weight loss efforts. If you’ve hit a plateau with your healthy habits, try one of these home remedies for weight loss.

  • Start your day with a cup of coffee

Eating or drinking something shortly after waking up is a great way to prime your metabolism in the morning.

Grabbing something healthy will certainly work better than a pack of Pop Tarts or a sugary bowl of cereal, and a hot cup of coffee could be the perfect fix.

For starters, drinking a healthy amount of coffee each day (2-3 cups) can lead to a number of health benefits.
Each cup is loaded with antioxidants and vitamins that work together to lower the risk of developing diabetes or heart disease and protect your liver. And adding a little caffeine to a healthy diet has the potential to significantly improve your metabolism!

Caffeine can increase your overall caloric output and induce corresponding increases in your activity levels. If you start to feel hungry and tired during your mid-morning slump at the office, coffee can even help to perk you up and curb your appetite at the same time!

  • Drink a mug of peppermint tea

If you are not a coffee fan but do enjoy a cup of tea, then consider adding a drop or two of peppermint essential oil to your favorite blend.

Peppermint essential oil comes with a lot of incredible physical and mental health benefits. Inhaling its vapors can increase focus and mental acuity, as well as curb your appetite.

You can also relieve aching muscles by incorporating it into a massage oil and rubbing directly into your sore spots or drink it to soothe an aching or unsettled stomach. And this is only the tip of the iceberg!

Relative to your weight loss goals, peppermint oil can be used to stimulate your metabolism and increase your body’s capacity to break down fats and sugars. Drinking a few drops in a glass of tea in the morning can prime your system to efficiently metabolize your calories all day long.

  • Stay Hydrated

Our bodies are made up of about 60% water, but throughout the day we are also constantly losing water in the form of perspiration and urination. That’s why it is so important to drink plenty of water every day to keep our bodies primed for optimal function.

The actual amount of water required varies from person to person, but a generally accepted rule of thumb is that you should drink at least eight 8-oz glasses every day, and more if you live an active lifestyle.

  • Incorporate ginger into your diet

Ginger root or its essential oil, when incorporated into your diet, can be a powerful supplement to your weight loss efforts. In fact, it provides a whole host of benefits to your digestive system as a whole.

Its carminative properties help to reduce the buildup of excess gas in the abdomen and digestive tract, limiting the risk of discomfort and indigestion. Ginger can also reduce inflammation and irritation in the stomach and bowels, both of which can impede digestive processes.

One of the ways that ginger can help you to lose weight is by curbing your appetite.

Ginger is a natural appetite suppressant, so incorporating fresh ginger root or ginger essential oil into your meals can help you to control your unhealthy cravings and to feel full for longer after you’ve finished your meal. And, in addition to curbing your appetite, ginger can induce a healthy spike in your metabolism too!

This means that you will both avoid overeating and digest the food that you do eat more efficiently. What a winning combination!

Directions: Add 2-3 drops of essential ginger oil to a glass of water and drink in between meals. Alternatively, incorporate fresh ginger into your meals, such as adding ginger root into a breakfast smoothie or a carrot soup.

Acne - Causes and Solutions

Acne is an inflammatory, chronic skin condition, acne causes blackheads, nodules, whiteheads, cysts, and pimples on different parts of your skin. While the disease is not dangerous, it can leave scars on the skin. There are pores in human skin that are linked to the oil glands underneath through follicles, which are sacs that make and secrete a liquid.

The glands also produce sebum, an oily liquid that carries cells of the dead skin to the surface of your skin, through follicles. A small hair grows out of your skin through the follicle. When these follicles are blocked, the oil collects under the skin, resulting in pimples which can grow on shoulders, neck, back, face, and chest. Hair, sebum, and skin cells tend to bundle up into a plug that can be affected by bacteria, resulting in swelling. When this plug starts to break down, a pimple develops in that area. The bacteria contributing to the infection or pimples are called Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes). According to research, the frequency and severity of this skin disease depend on the strain of bacteria. All types of acne bacteria do not cause pimples. A particular strain also assists in keeping the skin free of pimples.

Causes of Acne:
There are a number of things that cause acne, but the major one increases in androgen levels, which happens when adolescence begins. Some other causes of acne include:
  • Hormonal changes
  • Greasy cosmetics
  • Menstruation
  • Medications containing androgen and lithium
  • Stress

Solutions of Acne:
Although the different types of acne make it essential for you to consult a
dermatologist, here are some medications that doctors usually recommend.
  • Salicylic acid to prevent clogging of pores.
  • Resorcinol to treat blackheads and whiteheads.
  • Sulfur to remove dead skin cells.
  • Benzoyl peroxide to remove excess oil and kill bacteria.
  • Isotretinoin to decrease the production of oil.
  • Antibiotics to kill bacteria.
Other than medications, acne can also be treated by some home remedies such as:
  • Applying some apple cider vinegar
  • Using a honey and cinnamon mask
  • Using tea tree oil
