Moisturize. Many acne products contain ingredients that dry the skin, so
always use a moisturizer that minimizes dryness and skin peeling. Look
for "noncomedogenic" on the label, which means it should not cause acne.
There are moisturizers made for oily, dry, or combination skin.

Here's what you Should be doing to Prevent Dark Inner Thighs
Dark skin on the inner thighs can be experienced by anyone, regardless of skin tone. It occurs when the skin on the inner thigh produces an abundance of melanin, a pigment that gives skin its color. This is called hyperpigmentation. The discoloration of dark inner thighs may even stretch into the bikini or groin area.
Other reasons for dark inner thighs include excessive sweating, poor hygiene, using various hair removal techniques like shaving, hormonal imbalance, and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome to name a few. While most of us tend to ignore this body part, it will only feel hygienic to not have a body part which is of a different skin tone than the rest of your body.
There are a number of reasons why a person may experience a darkening of the skin on the inner thighs. Some of these reasons may include:
Aloe Vera has some amazing skin rejuvenating properties and is also effective in lightening the inner thigh area as it alleviates hyperpigmentation. You can extract aloe vera gel from aloe vera plant and apply it on the thighs and massage until they get absorbed in the skin. Rinse off with warm water and repeat twice or thrice daily for effective results.
Cucumber has bleaching properties that helps in lightening dark inner thighs. It helps in removing dirt and dead cells. You can apply fresh cucumber juice in your inner thighs and rub gently for 10 minutes. Rinse of with water. You can do this twice daily for a lighter-toned skin in the inner thigh.

There are a number of reasons why a person may experience a darkening of the skin on the inner thighs. Some of these reasons may include:
- chafing, which can occur during exercise or walking, and may cause the skin to become thin, itchy, and discolored
- hormonal imbalance, particularly among women during lactation, pregnancy, or menstruation, or among those with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
- certain medications, like hormonal oral contraceptives or certain chemotherapy medications
- sun exposure
- dry skin
- friction from tight clothing
- acanthosis nigricans, a skin pigmentation disorder
- diabetes mellitus
Below we will include a few home remedies that could help you.
Not only does lemon have exfoliating properties that help in removing skin impurities, it also acts as a bleaching agent which can help in lightening your skin tone. You can apply fresh lemon juice in your inner thighs, let it stay for around 20 minutes and remove with a wet cloth. Do this at least thrice a week for effective results. People with dry and sensitive skin can dilute lemon juice with water to prevent dryness.Lemon:
Aloe Vera:

Cucumber:

Yogurt:
Lactic acid in yogurt has mild bleaching properties. Yogurt also has some amount of zinc which helps in healing sunburns. You can apply yogurt on inner thigh for a few minutes and let it stay for around 15 minutes. Rinse of with lukewarm water. You can do this once every day.
Coconut Oil:
Essential fatty acids in coconut oil help in lightening up your hyperpigmentation and fade away the dark spots. Coconut oil also works as an excellent moisturiser. You can mix 1 tabelspoon of lemon juice in coconut oil and apply on the inner thighs. Let it stay for around 10 minutes. You can do this every alternate day for effective results.
Almonds:
Vitamin E rich almonds are helpful for skin brightening, moisturising the dried skin and repairing damaged skin. Add honey and almond powder in milk to make a scrub paste. Apply the scrub in your inner thighs and let it dry for a few minutes. Remove it with wet fingers and rinse with cold water. Repeat thrice a week for to lighten inner thighs.
Orange Peel:
Orange peel has mild exfoliating and bleaching properties that help in lightening the dark skin on inner thighs. Make a powder of dried orange peels and add 2 teaspoons of it in rose water to make a thick paste. Add some raw honey to it. Apply the paste on inner thighs and leave for 15-20 minutes. Remove with cold water. Repeat 2 to 3 times in a week for best results.

These are 4 Awesome Home Remedies for Weight Loss you Must Try!
Many Americans struggle to maintain a healthy weight.
At least two out of every three American adults are considered to be overweight, and about half of that population are overweight enough to be considered obese. The American obesity epidemic is influenced by a number of factors. Some of these factors, such as genetics and medical conditions, are outside of our control. Others, such as healthy eating habits and exercising regularly, are easier to maintain control over.
However, studies have also shown that our society as a whole is more overweight than the generations that came before us.
There are several factors that contribute to our increased average weight gain:
- Factors In The Obesity Epidemic
Most of these factors are difficult or impossible to control. However, when your metabolism and lifestyle habits fail you, you can turn to other forms of help to manage your weight.
- Alcohol Culture
Americans celebrate every occasion with a drink in hand (“Congrats on the new job! Let me buy you a drink to celebrate!”) and the social scene revolves around craft breweries and local pubs. As a result, “alcohol culture” is more prevalent than ever before.
The first hurdle that alcohol culture creates in managing your weight is that craft beer and mixed drinks introduce excess carbs, sugars, and calories into your system without producing any additional benefit to your body. Mixed drinks, in particular, are loaded with unnatural refined sugars, syrups, and food dyes, all of which are nothing but bad news to your system.
But the calories contained in your favorite alcoholic drink are only a part of the problem. Even if you trade your craft-brewed IPA or rum and coke for a gin and tonic, the presence of the alcohol in your system will still make it more difficult for you to lose weight.
This is because your body metabolizes the alcohol before it breaks down any other fats or sugars in your system, thereby inhibiting its fat burning processes.
- Natural Weight Loss Inhibitors
Even adults who drink very little, avoid most processed foods, and exercise regularly can still struggle with maintaining a healthy weight.
Weight gain and loss is a complex subject, affected by countless variables, and as such there are a number of reasons that you might struggle to lose weight. Not all of these reasons are related to your metabolism or to your lifestyle:
Some adults have simply inherited overweight tendencies.
Hereditary obesity can be offset with a healthy lifestyle, but an active young adult with two obese parents is still likely to experience more difficulty losing weight than a peer of similar weight and age with two naturally thin parents.
The Western diet often causes our bodies to over-produce insulin.
When this happens, you body stores more energy in your fat cells than what you actually need to go about your day, which in turn means that you have to expend more energy when exercising in order to burn those fat cells.
If your body’s natural hormone balance is off, then the chemicals that affect your appetite and energy levels could be adversely affected.
Medical conditions can induce sudden fluctuations in weight that can be difficult to combat.
Similarly, prescribed medications may induce side effects that cause you to gain or lose weight, or affect your appetite.
- What About Weight Loss Medication?
Prescribed weight loss medications are typically designed to combat severe obesity, so if you are struggling just to lose a few pounds then medication is not likely to be a healthy long-term solution.
Some medications help to block the buildup of fats in your body. Others are designed to help you eat less by decreasing your appetite or trick your brain into thinking that you are full.
While these can be effective ways to lose weight, these medications also induce a host of negative side effects, such as increased blood pressure, constipation, fatigue, and low blood sugar.
Additionally, using medications to lose weight rarely leads to a long-term solution
In many instances, users need to continue taking those medications in order to maintain their weight loss, which leads to a dependency on the drug to maintain long-term results. This means living with the increased blood pressure, fatigue, and other negative side effects.
Natural Remedies for Weight Loss
Luckily, there are plenty of natural ways to kickstart your weight loss efforts. If you’ve hit a plateau with your healthy habits, try one of these home remedies for weight loss.
- Start your day with a cup of coffee
Eating or drinking something shortly after waking up is a great way to prime your metabolism in the morning.
Grabbing something healthy will certainly work better than a pack of Pop Tarts or a sugary bowl of cereal, and a hot cup of coffee could be the perfect fix.
For starters, drinking a healthy amount of coffee each day (2-3 cups) can lead to a number of health benefits.
Each cup is loaded with antioxidants and vitamins that work together to lower the risk of developing diabetes or heart disease and protect your liver. And adding a little caffeine to a healthy diet has the potential to significantly improve your metabolism!
Caffeine can increase your overall caloric output and induce corresponding increases in your activity levels. If you start to feel hungry and tired during your mid-morning slump at the office, coffee can even help to perk you up and curb your appetite at the same time!
- Drink a mug of peppermint tea
If you are not a coffee fan but do enjoy a cup of tea, then consider adding a drop or two of peppermint essential oil to your favorite blend.
Peppermint essential oil comes with a lot of incredible physical and mental health benefits. Inhaling its vapors can increase focus and mental acuity, as well as curb your appetite.
You can also relieve aching muscles by incorporating it into a massage oil and rubbing directly into your sore spots or drink it to soothe an aching or unsettled stomach. And this is only the tip of the iceberg!
Relative to your weight loss goals, peppermint oil can be used to stimulate your metabolism and increase your body’s capacity to break down fats and sugars. Drinking a few drops in a glass of tea in the morning can prime your system to efficiently metabolize your calories all day long.
- Stay Hydrated
Our bodies are made up of about 60% water, but throughout the day we are also constantly losing water in the form of perspiration and urination. That’s why it is so important to drink plenty of water every day to keep our bodies primed for optimal function.
The actual amount of water required varies from person to person, but a generally accepted rule of thumb is that you should drink at least eight 8-oz glasses every day, and more if you live an active lifestyle.
- Incorporate ginger into your diet
Ginger root or its essential oil, when incorporated into your diet, can be a powerful supplement to your weight loss efforts. In fact, it provides a whole host of benefits to your digestive system as a whole.
Its carminative properties help to reduce the buildup of excess gas in the abdomen and digestive tract, limiting the risk of discomfort and indigestion. Ginger can also reduce inflammation and irritation in the stomach and bowels, both of which can impede digestive processes.
One of the ways that ginger can help you to lose weight is by curbing your appetite.
Ginger is a natural appetite suppressant, so incorporating fresh ginger root or ginger essential oil into your meals can help you to control your unhealthy cravings and to feel full for longer after you’ve finished your meal. And, in addition to curbing your appetite, ginger can induce a healthy spike in your metabolism too!
This means that you will both avoid overeating and digest the food that you do eat more efficiently. What a winning combination!
Directions: Add 2-3 drops of essential ginger oil to a glass of water and drink in between meals. Alternatively, incorporate fresh ginger into your meals, such as adding ginger root into a breakfast smoothie or a carrot soup.

Helpful Do's and Don'ts for Skin Care
We’ve all experienced it. A dreaded time in our lives where our skin wasn’t the most flattering. Unless you’re one of those select individuals who were blessed with beautiful skin from birth and if that’s the case then forget you! What exactly is it that causes our skin to go from healthy to monstrous in only a short period of time?
Here are some helpful skin care do’s and don’ts to abide by to help keep your skin looking healthy and flawless day in and day out!
- Drink Plenty of Water – Water is essential for a healthy complexion. H2O flushes out the toxins in your body and keeps the rest of your insides on track and working properly. Your skin is the very last organ to receive nutrients and nourishment from water. Meaning that in stressful situations and during these summer months especially, you have to drink even more water than you normally would! How much water should you be drinking? Take your body weight and divide it in half- that is how many ounces of water you should be taking in daily.
- Moisturize – Moisturizer is one of the most important beauty products out there. Whether it be for the face or for the body, keeping your skin moisturized will combat multiple skin concerns down the road. Using an overnight moisturizer is a great way to stay consistently hydrated. Skin cell regeneration works faster overnight so using a nighttime moisturizer before bed is sure to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy.
- Get a Facial – Instead of trying a DIY facial treatment let the experts give you the advice and treatment. Make sure you do your research before selecting a spa for your facial. Allowing someone to work on your skin can be a frightening thought but if you find a well recommended spa you should be fear free. If this is your first time doing a treatment start with a basic facial and let the esthetician recommend where you should go with your next one – maybe aiming more towards anti-aging or acne fighting masks and treatments in your next visit.
- Eat Healthy – Just as our mothers told us growing up “You need to eat your veggies!” – If you’re anything like me and can’t sit down and eat a plain and dry salad try an alternative like juicing. Natural juices are full of vitamins, anti-oxidants and nutrients that help increase blood flow as well as total cell turnover and regeneration making for the healthiest complexion!
Use SPF Protection – SPF should be worn daily on all skin types – even in the winter! SPF will fight the damaging effects of UVA and UVB rays on your skin. You can mix an SPF with your daily moisturizer or find a moisturizer with SPF already in it. My all time favorite SPF is by SkinCeuticals and is the Physical Fusion UV Defense FPS 50. I mix the SPF with my daily moisturizer to ensure I have really good coverage and protection from the sun.
These are the DON'TS are:
- Don’t Over Do It – Don’t go overboard with your skin care routine. Keeping it as simple as possible will ensure a healthy complexion. Testing out too many serums and constantly changing your skin care routine will irritate your skin. Find one routine that works best for your skin type and stick to that for as long as possible! This will help to keep your skin balanced and happy. You really only need to wash your face once a day – washing twice a day can also be over doing it.
- Don’t Always Trust Pinterest – Although Pinterest is one of my very favorite addictions and I do find some really good DIY ideas – it isn’t the most ideal place to find skin care advice. I will admit I have tried some really awesome masks but it is important to be aware of which at-home ingredients are helpful and which could be harmful. Proceed with caution when you see vinegar, spices, hydrogen peroxide, egg whites and or citrus in the recipes.
- Don’t Drink Too Much Coffee – My one vise is my worst enemy. One cup of coffee a day can be beneficial but too many Starbucks trips in one week (or one day for some of us) can be dehydrating on the skin. Our skin needs all the water and hydration it can get, especially in the heat of summer so try to limit your coffee intake as much as physically possible for your lifestyle.
- Don’t Over Exfoliate – Doing a once or twice a week exfoliation to remove dead skin cells is a great way to keep your skin healthy. Over doing this can give you reverse effects. Avoid using harsh scrubs that will make the skin irritated and vulnerable. If you have oily skin you can handle more exfoliation per week but if you tend to have dry/normal skin stick to once or twice a week max!
- Don’t Touch Your Face – This is easier said than done especially if you have a blemish that you can’t help but pester. The more that you touch your face the more problems that will arise. When you touch your face with unclean hands you are pulling bacteria from your dirty hands to your face and causing more fuel for the blemishes. Keep your hands off your face at all costs and do not pick or pop any blemishes! Again with the easier said than done but doing so will result in scaring- leaving you with bigger problems than a measly ol’ pimple.

4 Easy Ways to Rejuvenate your Skin
As we age, our skin naturally loses some of its softness and vibrancy. However, there are a number of simple lifestyle changes that can help rejuvenate the skin, such as wearing sunscreen and getting more sleep. Applying facial masks consisting of exfoliating ingredients like lemon and green tea can also help rejuvenate the skin.
Now we want to help you keep your skin beautiful and glowing, here's some ways you could achieve that:
Know your skin type. How you care for your skin will depend on your particular skin type. There are five basic skin types.
Use a gentle cleanser. Rise your face with the cleanser, but don’t scrub. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Apply toner. Skin toners help soak up oil and remove dirt. They should be applied before moisturizers.
Begin by applying a gentle toner in after washing your face in the morning and the evening. Apply the toner to a cotton ball and gently rub the toner onto your face in small circles. Repeat the process with new cotton balls until you no longer see dirt on the cotton ball after you apply it to your face.
Apply moisturizer. Whether your skin is normal, dry, or oily, it needs moisture. Choose an oil-free moisturizing to avoid blocking your pores.
Now we want to help you keep your skin beautiful and glowing, here's some ways you could achieve that:
Know your skin type. How you care for your skin will depend on your particular skin type. There are five basic skin types.
- Normal skin is clear and not particularly sensitive.
- Dry skin is flaky or rough.
- Sensitive skin may burn or itch when you apply certain products.
- Combination skin is dry in some areas and oily in others.
- If you find a particular cleanser dries out your face, experiment with different brands until you find one that works. A cleanser without alcohol or fragrance will work best with dry skin.
- If you have oily skin, use an oil-free, non-comedogenic foaming cleanser.
- For sensitive skin, choose a hypoallergenic cleanser that doesn’t contain unnecessary additives.
- Don’t over wash your skin. Over washing dries out your skin. Unless you are exercising, you shouldn’t need to wash your face more than once a day. In the morning, wash your face with lukewarm water. At night, apply your gentle cleanser and moisturizer.
- Remove your makeup at night. Makeup clogs your pores and can lead to acne. Remove it each night before bed using a gentle cleanser.
Apply toner. Skin toners help soak up oil and remove dirt. They should be applied before moisturizers.
- Choose a moisturizing the contains an SPF of at least 30.
- If your skin is oily, use a noncomedogenic lotion-based moisturizing instead of a cream to avoid clogging your pores.
- If you skin is very dry, choose a moisturizing that contains hyaluronic acid and Niacinamide, both of which help reduce water loss.
- If you have sensitive skin, choose a moisturizing that contains green tea, rose, or chamomile.
- Apply moisturizing twice a day: when you wake up and before you go to sleep.
- Apply the moisturizer while your skin is still damp.
- Apply moisturizing every day for the best results.

Reasons why you shouldn't sleep with Makeup
You shouldn't sleep with makeup because the thought of washing your face at night can sometimes be as appealing as curling up with a textbook. And TBH, you’re not even wearing a lot of makeup so what’s the point, right? Your day-old makeup — plus the sweat and oil that naturally accumulate throughout the day and the pollution and grime from the environment — is standing between you and the complexion of your dreams. It might even be prematurely aging your skin.
Here are some reasons why you shouldn't sleep with makeup on.
You'll break out.
"If you don't cleanse your face, dirt and dead skin cells are not removed," explains celebrity dermatologist Dr. Annie Chiu. "They stay on the skin, clogging pores and leading to chronic inflammation in the form of pimples."
Your complexion will appear dull.
If you've ever woken up in the morning, looked in the mirror, and wished your skin looked brighter, your lack of cleansing before you hit the bed could be the problem. "Oils and dead skin cells on the outermost layers of the skin are matted up against the pillow all night, and natural turnover of this dull epidermal layer is diminished,"
Your skin will look older — and you'll have more wrinkles."Dirt and makeup trapped against your skin cause environmentally-induced oxidative damage," says Dr. Chiu. "This leads to a breakdown of the skin barrier and prematurely ages your face."
If you have acne, you might make it worse.
While cleansing is an important step in anyone's beauty regimen, it's especially key for those who have temperamental skin. "For those with oily skin, like acne patients, sleeping in makeup could worsen their skin conditions," explains Dr . Chiu.
You could put yourself at risk for an infection.
While the act of sleeping in your makeup may not cause an infection, Dr. Chiu warns that if you already have an active skin abrasion, such as an inflamed acne pimple, it's possible that an infection can occur because your skin barrier is compromised. "Don't forget our skin is our first line of defense against infections," she adds.
You may develop a rash.
"Makeup often contains irritants like dyes and perfumes that, when left on the skin for long periods of time, can cause inflammation," explains Dr. Chiu, adding that those with rosacea or sensitive skin can be especially susceptible.

The Bottom Line
Even if you're super tired, wash your face before heading to bed — your skin will definitely thank you later. Dr. Chiu recommends you do it according to your skin type, although you should probably ask your dermatologist to help you figure out what's right for you if you're not sure.
"Cleanse twice daily. At night, if you wear heavy makeup, start with a quick makeup wipe. If you have normal to dry skin, find a gentle cleanser to lift off impurities, makeup, and dirt. For oilier skin, look for exfoliating cleansers with alpha-hydroxy acids, and for acne-prone skin, consider a topical treatment that contains active ingredient dapsone."
