How to properly take care of you skin!
Soft, healthy-looking skin requires daily care. If you follow this body care tips after the daily shower, on vacation or during the cold winter months your skin will be hydrated and nourished all year round.
For the skin is better the shower than the bath, which tends to dehydrate the skin. Make sure the water is warm better than hot. For the bath lovers, it's okay to take a bath from both. But don't be in the water for long!
Before you get out of the shower, clear the whole body well to remove any rest of the cleaning product. Then quickly dry the skin with soft tapping on the legs, chest, arms, etc. with the towel. Do not rub the skin aggressively until it is dry.
Make hydration a daily habit! After soft tapping with the towel to dry the skin, use a suitable cream to moisturize the skin effectively. This will help you to repair the Hydrolipidic film covering the epidermis. Don't forget that you have to hydrate all skin types.
Rule 1
Protect the skin under the sun
Rule 2
Use only a soft soap
Rule 3
- In the shower!

The Dangers of Sunbathing.
In the summer months, it is not uncommon for many of us to strip down to our under clothing and expose our bodies to the warmth of the sunlight. Sunbathing is regarded as one of the pleasures in life in summer. While it can bring with it the all important tan, sunbathing can have certain side-effects on individuals as well.
Harmful Effects:
Sunbathing involves exposure of the skin to heat emitted by the sun. Exposure of the skin to this heat for prolonged periods of time can result in excessive sweating and loss of water from within the skin.
Sunbathing can cause a great deal of dehydration, which can result in a damage to the skin with the pass of time. If a person does not keep a good hydration while sunbathing this could cause their blood pressure to drop dramatically enough to cause them to collapse. This known as a heat stroke.
Sunburns:
Constant exposure to sunlight can also increase the temperature of the skin resulting in what is commonly called as ‘sunburn’. The damage to the skin depends upon the type of skin the individual has. Some people are more prone to developing sunburns while some tend not to develop it but only have a tan following exposure to sunlight.Skin Cancer
Cancer of the skin is yet another risk that is associated with prolonged periods of sunbathing. As previously mentioned, the ultraviolet rays in sunlight can damage the skin especially in light-skinned individuals.
The damage of the skin cells requires them to heal adequately after the exposure has concluded.
However, when prolonged exposure occurs, the skin cells can change their morphology and overtime they could become cancerous. In a nutshell, constant sunbathing without adequate protection can cause skin cancer.
Premature Aging
Prolonged exposure to the sun has been known to cause premature aging of the skin. Using sunscreen is always recommended and to also avoid sunbathing between 11 in the morning 3 in the morning.
Protecting the skin
The best way to protect the skin during sunbathing is to wear creams that have a high sun protection factor (SPF). SPFs are designed to prevent damage of the skin by both ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B rays.
It is recommended that using a cream that has a sun protection factor of at least 15 be used when sunbathing. Application must be generous and must be done at least half an hour prior to sunbathing.
If an individual wishes to have a long sunbathing session, it is important to top up the application from time to time as its effect can wear off fairly quickly.

Ways to treat Sunburn
- Place a cool compress on sunburned skin for immediate sunburn relief.
- Take a cool shower or bath to cool your sunburned skin. Check out these natural bath therapies to soothe sunburn pain and other symptoms.
- Add one cup of apple cider vinegar to a bath to help balance the pH (acid or alkalinity) of sunburned skin, and promote healing.
- Soak in an oatmeal bath. This is especially helpful for itchy sunburned skin.
- Add some lavender or chamomile essential oil to the bath to help relieve some of the stinging and pain.
- Add 2 cups of baking soda to the bath to help ease irritation and redness from sunburn.
- Avoid soap or perfumes in the bath water as these can be drying on already dry and sunburned skin.
Drink lots of water, juice, or sport drinks. Your skin is dry and dehydrated. Replacing lost body fluids will help your skin heal from sunburn more quickly.

Dull and Tired Skin
Dull, Tired and Stressed skin.
Imaging a veil over the skin, covering all complexion glows. Skin looks tired strained and no bounce in its step. Skin has overexposed itself and is being scavenged by extrinsic aging. People of all ages complain about a lack of energy. And it’s no wonder. We work long hours making it difficult to manage a personal life, are sleep deprived, and don’t have time to exercise, all while living in a polluted and stress-filled environment. These conditions deplete energy from the body and take their toll our skin too, leaving it dull and lacklustre. To understand the difference between extrinsic and intrinsic aging, look at the backs of your hands. What you see is the result of external, or extrinsic, aging. Now look at the inside of your wrist. The changes you see there are the result of intrinsic aging.

Some causes for this could be:
Dryness and lack of proper exfoliation both contribute to skin cell debris.
Exhaustion - Trying to do too much in too little time is taxing both physically and emotionally.
Lack of sleep - For most people, an average of at least eight hours sleep a night is what the body’s immune system needs to fortify itself. Anything less than that and we suffer, whether we’re aware of it or not.
Stress - Our lives are filled with it, both good and bad.
Poor nutrition - When nutrition is good, it enhances body function and maintains steady blood sugar levels throughout the day. When it’s bad, it depletes the system and makes for destructive energy spikes and plunges (which in turn make for not-so-pretty mood swings.)
What you can do to fix that.

Symptoms may also include:
- Fine lines
- Coarse wrinkles
- Loss of elasticity
- Rough, scaly texture
- Dry, leathery appearance
- Broken capillaries

What you can do to fix that.
- Invest in a good quality exfoliating scrub that contains fruit acids, glycolic acid or abrasive beads that help slough away the dead cells on the surface of the skin. Dead skin cells don't reflect light well, instead making your skin look dry and dull.
- Apply an oil-free moisturizer several times daily. Dry skin can often take on a dull, chapped appearance that can make you look tired. Apply moisturizer each day, even if your skin doesn't feel dry. Look for one labeled "noncomedogenic" so you know it won't cause breakouts, even with frequent applications.
- Wear sunscreen every day. Sun damage can make your skin look discolored and dull, so it's important that a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or above becomes part of your daily skin care regimen. If adding a sunscreen sounds like too much of a bother, look for a daily moisturizer with a built-in sunscreen to help streamline your morning routine.
- Wear a tinted moisturizer instead of a thick and heavy foundation. A tinted moisturizer will help your skin's natural color and texture to shine through while adding light reflecting minerals to keep your skin looking bright. Heavy foundations and powders can dull the skin and give it a matte appearance, which can actually make you look older.

Do Women of Color Need Special Skincare Products?
It surprises many people when they learn that darker skin tones do not require special skincare products. It seems contrary to what you would expect, but the fact is skin color is not a skin type!
None of the research indicates that skin color has anything to do with the skincare products you need. It's not that darker skin tones don't have some physiological differences from lighter skin tones; it’s just that those differences don't impact what products you should be using.
Skincare is Color Blind

When it comes to skincare needs, skin is skin—no matter the color. Think of it like your diet: Regardless of our ethnic background, we all need the same nutritious foods that supply antioxidants, vitamins, and omega fatty acids to be healthy. The exact same concept applies to skin.
Skin is the body’s largest organ, which is why everyone’s skin needs the same helpful ingredients to address issues like dry skin, clogged pores, signs of aging, sun damage from unprotected sun exposure, uneven skin tone, oily skin, sensitive skin, and so on. All of those problems affect every ethnicity in the same way with only minor variations, but those variations don’t affect how you take care of your skin.
It is also important for everyone, regardless of skin color, to avoid problematic, skin-aggravating ingredients such as SD and denatured alcohol, menthol, peppermint, eucalyptus, lemon, lime, and natural or synthetic fragrances as well as scrubs and stiff-bristled cleansing brushes. Exposure to these skin-provoking ingredients will exacerbate any skin problem you have or create skin problems you don’t want. Bad products and unhelpful ingredients don’t care what color your skin is!
What You Need to Know
- Always use a gentle, water soluble cleanser (avoid bar soaps; they are too drying, can clog pores and cause skin to look ashy and feel dry).
- Always choose products that are appropriate for your skin type (i.e. gels and serums for oily or combination skin; creams and lotions for dry skin).
- Always use a well-formulated sunscreen during the day (the most typical cause of uneven skin tone for women of color and the appearance of signs of aging is sun damage).
- Always use products loaded with state-of-the-art ingredients including antioxidants, skin-replenishing ingredients, and skin-restoring ingredients.
These are the universal basic needs for all skin types regardless of ethnic background or skin color. This is the essential diet everyone’s skin needs, just like everyone’s basic diet for a healthy body has the same food group needs.
Dark Skin and Sun Damage
Having darker skin color does have an advantage over lighter skin tones because darker skin color does offer some amount of protection from sun damage. Essentially, the darker your skin tone, the more natural defense your skin has against the sun.
Applying a broad spectrum sunscreen 365 days a year, rain or shine, is as basic as it gets to having beautiful, healthy skin. Even if you’re inside all day, the silent but skin-damaging UVA rays of daylight come through windows. Sun damage isn’t pretty for anyone. Uneven skin tone, early signs of aging, rough skin surface, dry skin, mottled skin, and loss of firmness will occur for everyone if skin isn’t consistently protected.
Having the best skin of your life truly starts with sunscreen. Believing darker skin will somehow protect your skin from visible damage is dangerous thinking. No matter what skin color you have, it can absolutely be damaged by the sun. We repeat: Everyone needs to apply and reapply broad-spectrum sunscreen every day of year.

Tips for dry and/or oily skin
Having dry or oily skin can affect a lot in your life in multiple ways
A proper skincare routine is extremely important for healthy - young looking skin.
I normally advise my clients that, having dry skin could not only mean you could have a skin problem, but it could cause break outs, ugly looking skin and could make your makeup look patchy. As for oily skin, too much oil can cause acne also and make your face look greasy.
Why is your skin dry? Dry skin that naturally produces little or no oil and is what causes the skin to be dry and flaky.
Why is your skin oily? Skin that produces oil will have large pores and the skin is shiny or greasy.
2. Apply moisturizer immediately after washing. Ointments, creams, and lotions work by trapping existing moisture in your skin.
3. Use an ointment or cream rather than a lotion. Ointments and creams are more effective and less irritating than lotions. (olive oil or jojoba oil work best).
4. Lip balm. Choose a lip balm that feels good on your lips. Some healing lip balms can irritate your lips, if when you apply your lip balm it stings than you need a better option.
5. Use only gentle, unscented skin care products. Some skin care products are too harsh for dry, sensitive skin.
When your skin is dry, stop using:
6. Wear hand sanitizer or gloves a lot. Our hands are usually dry from the things we do all day.
7. Choose non-irritating clothes and laundry detergent. When our skin is dry clothes and laundry detergent can be irritating.
8. Add moisture to the air. Plug in a humidifier. If you can check your home heating system, find out if you have a humidifier on the system — and whether it’s working.

Why is your skin oily? Skin that produces oil will have large pores and the skin is shiny or greasy.
For dry skin:
1. Here is how to prevent bath/ showers to affect your skin even more:- Limit your time in the shower or bath to 5 or 10 minutes
- Use warm rather than hot water
- Wash with a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser
- Apply enough cleanser to remove dirt and oil
- Pat your skin gently dry with a towel
- Put on the moisturizer immediately after drying your skin

When your skin is dry, stop using:
- Deodorant soaps
- Skin care products with alcohol, fragrance, retinoids, or alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA)
- Avoiding these products will help your skin retain its natural oils.
For Oily Skin
- Wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and before bed. Don't wash a lot because over-washing can strip your skin of all the natural moisturizers and increase oil production.
- Use a cleanser. If you need something stronger, look for ingredients made for oily skin.
- Don’t scrub your face because it can stimulate oil production.
- If you have oil build up in between facial washings, use a medicated pad or blotting paper to remove excess oil.
- Oily skin still needs to be moisturized, so look for water based or oil-free moisturizers and stay away from creams and heavy moisturizers.
- When choosing foundation and other make-up, pick those with gel, liquid or powder bases. If using a liquid make-up make sure it is water based, not oil based. Makeup labeled “noncomedongenic” contain ingredients that won’t clog your pores.
- Exfoliate once a week to help loosen and remove dirt and oil in your pores.
- Don’t pick, pop or squeeze pimples because it will cause scarring and leave red spots on your face.

Simple Skincare tips for youthful looking skin
Simple Skincare tips for youthful looking skin. A wrinkle-free, beautiful glowing skin is desired, but not achieved
by all. Like anything else, our skin also demands care and attention.
Though the conserving time for taking proper care of the skin is
difficult in today’s busy schedule, it is not impossible. You only need
to dedicate a little time to keeping your skin wrinkle free and
beautiful for a longer period. Let’s have a look at ways in which you
can protect your skin:
- 1. Minimize the skin exposure to the sun: Though sunlight is a major source of vitamin D, overexposure to the sun accelerates the skin aging process. To avoid this, wear a hat, sunglasses, scarves, etc. to keep your skin protected from sunlight. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen lotion before leaving the house to protect the areas of your skin that get exposed to the sun.
- Lie on your back– Develop a habit of lying on your back when you sleep, and not on your sites as this restricts the chances of skin damage.
- 4. Follow a proper diet: There is no alternative to developing good eating habits when it comes to health, beauty and well being. Your daily food chart should be rich in fruits and vegetables. Fish are also great for the skin, especially oily fish like Salmon. Adopt a healthy and balanced diet as your everyday routine, and your skin will thank you.
- 5. Get enough sleep: If you want a beautiful glowing skin, you should get adequate sleep. That is 7-8 hours of shut-eye every night. Inadequate sleep increases the secretion of the hormone cortisol, which negatively impacts the skin.
- Use anti-aging products: Not all anti-aging products are effective, but if you use the right products, they can help you keep your skin hydrated, fresh and youthful.

FACE, NECK, CHEST and CLEAVAGE one of the sexiest places on the body.
Olive oil is a favorite of mine that is growing in popularity. Penetrates deep into the skin on your face, providing needed moisture as well as a shield to protect your skin. Don’t forget to apply olive oil on neck, chest, and cleavage. Looking youthful and fresh is about the whole package! FACE, NECK, CHEST and CLEAVAGE one of the sexiest places on the body, but on the flip-side, it’s also one of the first areas to show signs of aging. So keep skin hydrated and moisturized =)
Skincare Routine I use when my skin is a bit dry:
I wash my face with warm water do the same for NECK, CHEST and CLEAVAGE
Apply olive oil on all areas and massage in circular motion for 10min
Massage Neck, Chest and cleavage upward defy gravity
I then penetrate the olive oil with Ultrasound facial machine for 15-25 min and walaaaaaaa!!!! my glow is back.
Don’t think I’m crazy but I can almost feel my cells regenerating. It feel like a tingling or prickling sensations on the skin. Olive oil penetrates deep into the skin on your face & body, providing needed moisture as well as a shield to protect your skin, keeping it smooth.
For men and women who are conscious about their body and beauty olive oil is a good skin care treatment solution.
